6 Habits That Helped Reduce My Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety can have a huge impact on our day to day lives. It can impact our sleep, relationships, and overall mood. I know for me; I was feeling overwhelmed with stress and anxiety so I needed to come up with a plan of action that could help me feel better. After some trial and error, I discovered 6 habits that helped reduce my stress and anxiety significantly.


Meditation

Meditation has been proven to improve mental health by reducing stress levels. It helps you gain clarity and control of your thoughts while boosting positive emotions like happiness, joy, and gratitude. For me personally, it really helped me refocus my energy on the present moment rather than worrying about the future or dwelling on the past.


Words of Affirmation

Words of affirmation are powerful tools for boosting self-esteem and confidence. When you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, reminding yourself of your worth can be incredibly helpful in calming down your mind. Try writing down positive affirmations or listening to inspiring podcasts or music that radiates good vibes!


Self Care Sundays

One habit that I started implementing was dedicating one day per week as a “self-care Sunday” where I take time out of my day to do something just for myself – whether that be going for a walk outside, reading a book, getting a massage – whatever makes YOU feel relaxed! This is a great way to shake off the stresses from the week prior while recharging your batteries so you can start anew each Monday morning!


Keep a Relaxing Home Environment Rich with Soothing Fragrances

Our home should be our sanctuary away from the world, so it makes sense to keep it as relaxing as possible! Try diffusing essential oils like lavender or jasmine throughout your home which will help create a calming atmosphere full of soothing fragrances. Additionally burning sage throughout your home helps purify the air while candles are also great for creating a peaceful environment!
